At last, the worlds of no wave and point-and-click video games have collided. In the game No Wave, you play a Brooklynite named Jim, who attempts to navigate through a no wave show without getting a bottle cracked over his head. Play it here via FACT.
Update: It's worth noting that the game's logo bears an uncanny resemblance to the cover of Pitchfork contributor Marc Masters' book No Wave.
The game's creators, Trevor Reveur and Red City Noise, cite Sonic Youth, Swans, Foetus, the Birthday Party, Lydia Lunch, and more as influences behind the game. In one level of the game, a band called "Swamps" play in front of a banner featuring the Swans teeth logo. Here's the game's description:
You are Jim, a man from Brooklyn. You discover the underground life of New York. Someone told you to go out, but you're asking "Why?". And the answer is: "Life is in the streets, in music, not only in your flat". You decide to visit one of these clubs known for their wild side. They are repulsive but attractive in many aspects. So there you are, ready to try anything."
