The Wire Shares A List of Killer Sound Archives

David Novak just wrote a comprehensive volume on the relationship between the Japanese and American noise communities since the 1980s, Japanoise. The Wire invited him to draft for their website a list of his favorite online sound archives, and you'll find links for everything from noise cassettes, to folk music, to sounds of antiquated technology, to "acoustically signaling insects [producing] some of the most startling and intense sounds ever recorded."
