DJ Dog Dick Announces Album, Shares Video

DJ Dog Dick is Max Eisenberg's current dog-centric alias, having recorded previously as Dog Synth, Dog Leather, and others. He's just announced his debut album as DJ Dog Dick, The Life Stains. The Dog Dick name has signalled a bit of schism with Eisenberg's past material-- both less noise-oriented and less hip hop-oriented, DJ Dog Dick's current work, especially "Dried Old Leaves," finds itself in a distant pop universe. With melodic synth noise layered over a beat that trades chillwave snares with crunk finger snaps, "Dried Old Leaves" refuses to fit in. Though he dips his feet into a smooth Ariel Pink-like aesthetic, Eisenberg's half-rapping and auto-tuned singing keeps him in more in-your-face, bizarre territory. Strange, and strangely addicting.
