R.I.P. Women Guitarist Christopher Reimer

The Calgary Herald reports that Christopher Reimer, guitarist for Calgary band Women, died in his sleep on Tuesday. His cause of death remains unknown. He was 26.

Women released two records with Jagjaguwar, 2008's Women and 2010's Public Strain. The band went on hiatus in 2010, and Reimer joined the Dodos as a touring member in 2011.

Women's track "Black Rice" ranked at number 18 in our Top Tracks of 2008, and their 2010 album was one of our Top 50 Albums of 2010. The band performed at the Pitchfork Music Festival in 2009 and had toured with the likes of Mogwai and Wire.
